For 2 years, we’ve struggled with M’s sleep. Night waking, sleeping in our room, visiting from her own room, etc. There was honestly an issue for 2 years straight. Nightly. Now, that is solved. She is finally in her own room (the one she shares with her younger sister) and stays in bed all night and falls asleep there with little to no trouble. Yay!
Our youngest, Abs, has been a fantastic sleeper since birth. Sleeping through the night by 12 weeks, 12 hours a night, with very little night waking. I actually can’t really remember her ever getting up at night and not going back to sleep on her own.
Mama got too comfortable.
Now that M is the great sleeper, Abs has decided someone needs to be a crappy sleeper. She saves her most heart breaking, gut wrenching cries for the exact moment J and I try to go to sleep. She has it down to a science. Or, when she’s feeling really pissed at us for some reason, she teases us, tricking us into thinking she is set for the night, and then wakes at 1 or 2, and wants to play. No amount of rocking, snuggling, singing or begging will get her back in her crib without hysterics. And this girl can scream. I had to go speak to our neighbors about it, because I know if I heard the sounds that come from this little one’s lungs, I would think she was possessed. Luckily, they don’t hear a thing, and, more importantly, it doesn’t phase M, who sleeps 5 feet away.
I’m sure it’s just a phase…It will pass. But, when? I NEED to know.
