Why is it this hard? Did everyone else have such a hard time losing the last 10 after baby #2, or 3 or 4? I was back in my regular clothes a few months after M was born, and it’s been 21 months since Abs, and my old clothes are laughing at me when I try them on. Is the 2nd baby? Is it because I’m older? WTF?
I guess I should just back up and say that I really expected the weight to just fall off. With M, it did. I had been in shape, and didn’t have to do much to lose it. I got really lucky. This time, even with effort – minimal, but some effort – I can’t even shed an ounce. I saw my OB 6 months of so after giving birth, and was still considerably heavier than prepregnancy, and she said the words that no mom ever wants to hear: “Mom, your body has done all it’s going to do for you, now it’s your turn.” Crap. I have belonged to a gym all along. Never went. I check out fit TV pretty often and try to get a little workout in at home. That would work better if I did it more than a few times per month. I bought the 30 Day Shred. It kicked my butt, and I KNOW that would work if done consistently, but I just can’t get in the groove.
I so wish I could be the mom who gets up at the crack of dawn to workout. I tried it once and really did enjoy knowing that he gym daycare wasn’t about to come get me to change a diaper or calm a tantrum. It started my day so well knowing I did something for my health and well-being. do I feel I can keep that up? Not a chance.
I am giving myself 2 months to lose the weight. Eat breakfast every day and workout 3-4 times per week – how hard is that going to be?
Darn near impossible, but I’ll give it a shot!

ahh yes. I was lighter after my first, but the 2nd? nah. I love the way our bodies work! {not}
You also need to remember that your body is not always going to react the same way it did the first time. You are aging! You might be still young (according to my age or your folks! lol) but you are still aging. Your body changes.
I only had one son, and I really didn’t gain that much weight during or after. I think the medication did that for me-the depression too. But I have to work extra hard due to my age and due to my body changes.
But not everyone is going to be the same.
I think you will do just fine as you find a solution if you have not done so yet…but stay positive!
the good news is that your husband and kids still loves & accepts you just as you are!!
Safe hugz!

A Mom’s Journey
I feel your pain sister. I have those last 10 pounds to lose to, and I am one of those before the crack of dawn “morning maniacs”. I bet you are already beautiful just the way you are even with those extra ten pounds. Society likes to drag us down and tell us what we should look like. Its sad, but I fall into the trap too.
The last few pounds are always the hardest to lose. A couple of important tips that may help all in the same position:
1) cardio is best done in the morning
2) resistance training is best done in the afternoon as hormone levels are higher for muscle growth
3) using HIIT – high intensity interval training during cardio workouts make them shorter and more valuable.
4) eat at least 6 small meals – eat at least every 4-5 hrs to keep your metabolism firing.
I hope this helps and good luck.
I am now following you on Twitter so I will keep up to date on progress.
