“In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.”
I tend to have a hard time getting going in the morning (and the afternoon.) We all agree, I need a better routine. Not something rigid, but more of a plan to keep the girls (and me) occupied, entertained and happy this Summer. I’m thinking of including storytime, playgrounds, etc.
My question today is: Do you have a basic routine? Do you follow it? Tell me more and I might try to copy you!!
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at today’s installation of Aloha Friday at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

In the summer we are much more relaxed. We still are on schedule…Lunch at noon, nap around 2, dinner varies and bath before bed.
No I don’t really have a set routine during the day. Other than we get up, my son plays Video games while I work from home, and then we’ll go do something outside like go to the pool, the park, or something like that. I kinda fly by the seat of my pants. lol The routine we have in the evening is after dinner my son must take a shower and then we’ll watch some t.v. together.
No consistent routine so to speak of. Each day is different depending on my mood. The essentials always get done, but I procrastinate on the things that can wait.
Sometimes if feels VERY routine as far as daily schedule however my job is quite dynamic which I’m grateful for. Plus we always try and do different things on the weekends.
I don’t really have a huge routine besides going to work 4 morning a week.
No routine for me either. I just wake up and see how the day goes from there. Some days it’s good and others make me wonder why I got out of bed in the first place
)
We do have a pretty set routine. I’ll outline it for ya!
8:30am I wake up, eat, drink coffee, shower, etc.
9:30-10am I get the girls up. Obviously they’re not morning people. Neither am I, so that works for us!
10am- Get them milk, dressed, diaper changed, fed, etc.
Relax a bit… drink more coffee..
11am – Get out of the house. Sometimes it’s just a walk around the neighborhood, sometimes it’s play in the backyard, sometimes it’s go to the store, whatever strikes my mood.
Noonish (often later if our activities take a while) – Lunch
Then it’s Nap Time. And Blog time for Mommy.
2:30-3:30 Girls wake up, milk, snack, maybe watch some TV while Mommy gets dinner figured out.
5pm- Dinner.
After dinner is bath time. Then it’s play time until…
8pm – Bedtime.
I realize that most kids don’t sleep 16 hours a day, but for whatever reason my kids seem to need it, and I’m not complaining. And obviously there are days where we need to be somewhere before 11am and that changes everything.
Nothing about my life is ROUTINE!!
Stop by my blog when you have a moment. I write to encourage MOMS-most of who do not have a routine either! Blessings.
Non-daycare days usually go like this:
sometime btwn 5 and 6 am: wake with kid #1 (usually Annie), get milk and diaper; go wake up kid #2 (so they’ll nap at the same time later).
have coffee and attempt to watch news and usually give in to cartoons within 5 minutes
7:30 breakfast
8-10 was A’s morning nap until last week, so new window of (unshowered) opportunity
midmorning outing: park, store, backyard, or similar
12ish lunch
1-3 nap (time for mom to shower, do housework, do work-work)
3 snack and/or stroller ride/errand/outing
5:45 dinner
6:30 books or bath (baths 2-3 x week)
7 jammies and milk
7:30/45 BED!!
Hang with husband
Go on Internet
Stay up way too late
repeat
I wish it was. Then I wouldn’t be so frazzled all the time!
