I am so not looking forward to the death talk with my kids. My 4yo talks a big game like she gets it but when something she actually knows and cares for dies it will be a whole nother story! I kinda wish we could start small, like a frog, I instead of a dog but I guess a beloved pet is a beloved pet! Sounds like you handled it well… love the beaver in the toilet!

Sorry about the dead frog.

I’ve had to talk about death with my son before and it wasn’t fun.

We haven’t had any fish or frogs so nothing has had to be flushed, thank goodness. Although my two year old did flush some things there WEREN’T meant to go in tthe toilet…that was an adventure.

I’m not a fan of the “death” talk – I’m just not good at it, unless stuttering and sweating like a mad woman counts. Thankfully, we don’t have any pets in our house due to allergies, so the pet talk won’t be happening. Then again, the kids watched E.T. tonight, and wanted to know why E.T. died and came back to life and can people do that and omg, thank the lord for bedtime.

A beaver? That’s very funny.

Our 16 year old shepherd passed away not long ago. There was no way she would fit down the toilet.
