2009: A year (almost) of posts

in Things I Like, Unoriginal

I started this blog in 2009, and have enjoyed it so much! I started it as more of a food-ish blog, to help other parents dealing with difficult food allergies and picky kids, but when I realized that I knew nothing about cooking and was in no position to offer advice, I focused on just writing about being a mom, a wife, a person. Looking back at some of my older posts reminds me that when I started this little gig, I felt like I had to post often, even when I had nothing to say. Some of it is truly crap. Some of it, I wish more people saw in the early days. In any case, I’ve learned a lot – what to do, what not to do, how to annoy the shit out of people.

I have met some truly awesome people, and even got a chance to meet some of my favorites in person. I’m looking forward to BlogHer next year to meet even more…

I took the idea from Scary Mommy and present my favorite posts of the year. Yes, they’re all mine, but indulge me. Maybe you missed them the first time around?

Drumroll, please!

February: Going Back to School – Thornton Mellon Style

March: French Fries: The Vegetable’s Ugly Cousin

April: The Worst Book. Ever.

May: Sometimes you’re the bird, sometimes you’re the statue

June: I Have Completely Forgotten how to Dress Nicely

July: Cheesy Lines do Sometimes Work

August: Alone Time is a Girl’s Best Friend

September: Why am I Always the Bad Cop?

October: Why I Keep Him Around

November: StumbleUpon is like Crack

December: How to Drive in Massachusetts

Haha. This made me laugh. I hate when I write random crap just because I feel like I have to write every day. Blogging is certainly a learning experience. I liked the “forgotten how to dress” post – can totally relate! So glad I found your blog this year!

What a great idea! Since I just started blogging a month ago this may not work well for me right now (HA!!) but I will file this idea away for later. I am going to sit down later tonight and read through your faves. Happy New Decade!

I really like your new look. And the posts. Love the posts! Are you really going to BlogHer? If you’re going, I’m going…

My blog started as a big question mark. I thought I wanted to focus on home decor and food.

Now I write about vaginas and poop.

I already bought my ticket. I’m definitely going, so you’d better! Thanks for the nice words on the new look. Got the theme as a ‘gift’ and still working on the header. So far, so good, but glad to know you like it!
